Welcome to Goodboy
Five short steps take you from install to a first agent reading your project. Skip any step that does not apply to you.Provider connection
Connect the provider you already use with a login or an API key. Each card shows whether it is connected, signed out or missing.Pick up a task, with a drafted brief
Pick an issue and Goodboy drafts a short title, a goal and done-when criteria. Keep the brief, edit it or use the issue text.Run a workflow
Write a goal, choose how steps are picked and read the plan before you run it. One press creates the session and starts the run.
Also: provider pages, CLI updates, permissions, integrations, start tabs, settings rail, settings pages
In the guide:Set upStart a task
Follow a task while it runs
See what needs you from any screen, find anything fast, and watch each session move across the board.

Session overview
Find the goal, linked issues, projects, cost and the buttons to start an agent on one screen. Each project lists its branches and pull request state.Activity
One row per launch, newest first, with its role, the model that ran, duration and cost. A Needs you block sits on top and the Log view holds the facts.Session list
The left column lists the sessions of the workspace, one line each. The ones that need you sit on top, and a card shows where any of them stands.Stage board
See where each session stands without moving cards. Each one sits in building, running, needs you, in review, done or archived.
Also: time left, pinned sessions, notifications, new windows, command palette, search, session cards, done lane, bulk select

Shared context and projects
What one agent learns, the next one reads, across every repo your work touches.
Make a redelivered webhook credit the account once, keyed on the processor event id.
Why: D3 moved the dedupe inside the transaction, so the handler check from D1 is gone.Decision 7
Moving the event id insert into the credit transaction. A unique violation on (account_id, event_id) now means the event already landed, so the handler answers 200 and posts nothing.
Decisions live in the task, not in a chat.
Decisions
Record a decision once and later agents read it. Replacing or withdrawing one needs a reason that stays next to it.Running summary
After each turn a summary of state, next steps, open questions and lessons is updated for the next agent. Your own edits are kept.Workspace with several projects
Keep your repos together and let one session work across several of them. A repo gets a branch only when an agent needs to edit it.Worktrees
Each branch gets its own worktree, a separate folder next to your checkout. Agents edit in parallel without touching your own files.
Also: decision reasons, learned, context budgets, plan handoff, several branches, branch names, workspace switcher, repo status, moved projects
In the guide:Shared contextWorkspace and projects
Split work into steps
Chain several agents in one run, each with its own role and model, and steer them as they go.
Duplicate credit fix
5 steps, 10 agents, $2.74
Workflow builder
Shape a run before it starts with a name, a goal and a mode. The plan is previewed as a recipe, step 1 on top, in the same nodes the run will show.Orchestrated
Give a goal and a model picks each next step with a role, a model and a reason. It stops when done or blocked.Spend cap
Cap what a run or a session can spend, then choose to pause workflows or only be warned. A paused run offers Raise spend cap.Workflow run
Follow a run from top to bottom, with sub-agents under their agent and one pinned next action. After a restart, one Resume all starts the stopped agents again.
Also: presets, saved steps, model per step, when to ask, pause and resume, run defaults, chained starts, hints, open questions, import
In the guide:Workflows
Review and branches
One Branch page with Comments, Files, Commits and Checks: reshape history, turn comments into commits, and push once.
Log the duplicate at info with the event id, so on-call can count redeliveries. Kenji W. asked for it on #318.
Shape the history
Clean up a branch in the Commits tab. Reword, squash, fold, drop or reorder commits by hand, then apply.Safe apply
Your plan is tried on a temporary copy first, and a backup is saved before anything changes. If a step stops, your branch stays as it was.Resolve
Turn review comments into commits without writing the fix yourself. One agent works through them in order, in its own copy of the branch. You accept, edit or skip each fix.Close on GitHub
One Push in the Branch header. Select commits, press Push N and read the preview inline. Replies post and threads resolve after a confirm that counts them.
Also: conflict prediction, push with lease, commit messages, rebase on main, merged branches, review sources, comment states, squash and fold, PR text, checks
In the guide:Review and resolve on the Branch pageCommits and history
Tasks, plans and wireframes
Connect your trackers once, let agents read them, and keep every document next to the task.
- GitHub
- Linear
- Jira
- Sentry
- Slack
Tasks
Work from one list instead of seven tabs. Issues, Slack threads, Sentry errors and pull requests sit together, grouped by day.Trackers
Read Sentry errors with stack trace, breadcrumbs and tags inside Goodboy. Comment, assign, edit and move issues in Linear and Jira the same way.Code hosts
Work on GitHub pull requests, GitLab merge requests and Bitbucket comments, approvals and merges without leaving Goodboy. GitHub and GitLab can work side by side.Create a wireframe
Describe the screen in a brief, add attachments, and choose the fidelity and the target: phone, desktop or both. See exactly what goes in the context pack.
Also: supported tools, find by code, starred issues, Slack actions, comment threads, artifacts, reports, wireframe versions, compare
In the guide:Tasks and your toolsPlans, reports and wireframes
Providers, limits and cost
Know how much of each plan is left, keep work moving when one runs out, and see the total bill.
One long conversation
One heavy model rereads the whole history at every step.
Total $9.80
With Goodboy
A fresh agent per step, on the model that fits it.
Total $3.07
Usage limits chip
See how much of your Claude and Codex plans is left before a run stops. Two bars show the 5-hour window and the week.Fallback when a limit is hit
When a provider runs out, a turn can move to another connected one. The conversation records where it went.Model picker
Pick a model with the reason next to it. The picker leads with Auto and shows what it resolves to right now. A model you turn off is left out of Auto.Impact
See what Goodboy got done and what it cost over 7 days, 30 days or all time, deleted sessions included. Tiles compare each figure with the period before.
Also: use reset, provider order, monthly cap
In the guide:Providers, limits and cost
Work with agents directly
Ask questions, give each helper a job, and steer it from the keyboard or a real terminal.
Workspace chat
Ask about your repos without starting a session. The answer reads every project and never changes a file, and you can turn it into work later.Roles
Nine roles come with the app, from Scout to Generalist. A role sets the agent's instructions, its default model and what it hands back. When one recommends the next, its reason and result travel with it.Agent transcript
Follow one agent's work in order. Plans and reports show as chips, file edits group together, and questions appear where you answer them.Terminal
Open a real login shell in the session's worktree. It is still there after a reload.Keyboard shortcuts, back and forward
Drive Goodboy from the keyboard with 77 shortcuts. ⌘/ opens the list, and ⌘[ and ⌘] move through history.
Also: chat images, agent suggests, queue or send now, stop and continue, attachments, drift warning, subagents, script drawer, open in editor
In the guide:AgentsKeyboard and terminal
Storage, backup and updates
Free disk space safely, move your setup between Macs, and keep tokens out of what you save.
Worktree folders
See the checkout folders of archived or deleted sessions with their size and whether they are safe to remove. One button clears the clean ones.Branches
Branches has its own page, sorted into safe to delete and needs a look. Recently deleted restores a branch for 14 days.Export and import your setup
Move your setup to another Mac or keep a copy, in groups you choose. Import shows what it adds before writing anything.Updates
Updates download in the background, then a pill in the top bar offers to restart. With agents running, it can wait until they finish.
Also: storage scope, security findings, data backups, changelog, bug reports, update pill
